About The Tax Guardians
Our Story
The Tax Guardians was founded in 2023 by Joshua and Shantell Wilkins, a husband-and-wife team committed to giving back to their community. As a family-owned and operated business, our mission is to help taxpayers—especially those 55 and older—navigate complex tax laws and ensure their returns are filed accurately and on time.
Inspired by teaching our own children the life skill of tax preparation, we realized the importance of financial literacy in building confidence and security. This led to the creation of The Tax Guardians, where we provide free, professional tax assistance to those in need. Our goal is to make tax season less stressful by offering personalized in-person and virtual consultations, helping our community maximize their tax benefits.
But we don't stop at tax preparation. At The Tax Guardians, we believe financial education is the key to building a secure future. That’s why we also offer workshops to empower our community with knowledge on budgeting, purchasing a new home, and wealth-building strategies. These workshops are designed to equip individuals with the tools they need to manage their finances effectively, make informed decisions, and grow their wealth.
